We watched what we recorded and it was pretty good for a first proper attempt. The camera work was not bad but it lacked professionalism. There was too much headspace when filming but that was dealt with by the director doing his job really well. We didn't have much to work with when we were practicing because there was camera missing and that was my role, being the third cameraman. We had to get used to most of the equipment because it was new to most of the people in the class but others had some experience and helped those that needed help. During this visit to the studio we were being helped by a technician, he taught us the basics of how the cameras work, zooming in and out etc. Focusing on the talent quickly so when the shot is cut to the camera that was focusing it would look smooth. The technician also showed us what the floor manager does, floor managers ensure that sets, props and technical equipment are safe, ready to use and in the right position prior to filming. They also have the coordinating role, acting as the link between the director and the many people involved in a production. It is the floor manager's responsibility to pass on cues to presenters and guests to ensure timings are met and the broadcast goes smoothly, the technician explained this to us but mostly to the floor manager but we paid attention so that if the floor manager needed assistance there will be help.
